This notification provides product security information and recommendations related to patching within specified versions of the BD Pyxis™ ES system.
This notification applies to the following systems:
- BD Pyxis™ MedStation ES with Microsoft™ Windows 10 Operating System
In December 2017, BD identified an issue that may prevent the timely and effective installation of Microsoft security patches on some BD Pyxis™ MedStation ES devices operating Microsoft Windows™ 10 through the standard security module. Due to the large file size of the Windows 10 security patches, all Pyxis MedStation ES devices operating Windows 10 will use a new cloud-based Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server instead of Security Module to obtain new Microsoft™ patches. Once devices are directed to this server, no additional changes are necessary to maintain appropriate future patching.
Customers that maintain patches independently of BD automated delivery should ensure these actions are performed as the acting responsible entity in order to maintain the correct security posture of the system(s).
