The use of disinfecting caps is supported by 2014 SHEA Compendium, The Joint Commission CRBSI Toolkit: Valve disinfection guidance, the 2021 Infusion Nursing Standards of Practice and the Royal College of Nursing Infusion Therapy Standards.
