The PleurX™ drainage system can help patients manage fluid accumulation from recurrent pleural effusions or malignant ascites at home or in hospice or palliative care.
Train your patients on using the PleurX vacuum bottles that they may bring home from the hospital, and how to purchase PleurX supplies through a national network of distributors. If you cannot purchase and stock PleurX drainage kits, you can purchase PleurX starter kits, which provide four kits with patient education information. Other drainage options appropriate for hospice patients are also available.
Private insurance companies and Medicare reimburse PleurX options for short-term and long-term patient needs.*
