This presentation will discuss the different types of catheter occlusion, assessment, troubleshooting, treatment and prevention of catheter occlusions.
- Overview
Clinicians caring for central lines must carefully monitor for complications including catheter occlusion, which refers to the inability to infuse or withdraw fluids from a catheter.
For timely medication administration, it is imperative to keep the catheter patent. This presentation will discuss the different types of catheter occlusion, assessment, troubleshooting, treatment and prevention of catheter occlusions.
