The J-Tip Guidewires are constructed from the following basic elements: a coil, a core wire, a safety wire, a lubricious coating, and a tube. The guidewires are made of stainless steel, with Teflon (PTFE) coating, and a fixed core or a double distal core. The distal, J curved tip of the guidewire features the ability to be finger straightened from any point of the wire shaft. The ends of the guidewire are secured and polished for strength and smoothness. Guidewires may also be fitted with “J” straighteners. The “J” straighteners provide a means to straighten guidewire “J” tips, ready for feeding into an introducer or needle.
