Art Hu serves as executive vice president and chief information and digital officer. He is responsible for leading all aspects of BD’s IT systems and processes, digital strategy, data, AI, cybersecurity, and the enterprise program management office. Hu is also a member of the BD Executive Leadership Team.
Previously, Hu was at Lenovo Group, where he served as senior vice president, global CIO and chief technology and delivery officer for the Solutions and Services Group. His responsibilities included leading information services, digital technology and business transformation, driving Lenovo's services-led and AI transformation across customer, partner and employee-facing systems, and leading the customer services delivery teams to all of Lenovo’s customers worldwide. Prior to Lenovo, he spent nearly a decade at McKinsey & Company advising organizations on technology, operations, strategy, and organizational transformation.
Hu has won several awards, including the 2025 Intelligent Transformation Leadership Award presented by leading Chinese financial journal, Caijing, and 2024 Forbes China Leader in Technology and Innovation Award. In 2023, Hu was recognized as one of the CIOs to watch in the Forbes CIO Next List. He has more than 25 years of experience leading global technology, digital and business transformation initiatives at scale.
Hu earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in computer science from Stanford University.
